Additionally, they are responsible for equipping host cities with transport and communication infrastructure that meets international requirements. This is highlighted in a report by the Directorate of Public Enterprises and Privatization (DEPP), led by Khalid Sbaï. The report emphasizes the contributions of public enterprises such as ANRT, which, in line with the 2030 telecom sector strategy, has launched a 5G coverage project. The goal is to achieve 25% population coverage by 2026 and 70% by the end of 2030. The ultimate objective is to ensure 100% 5G coverage in all host cities for the 2030 World Cup.

The National Railway Office (ONCF) has launched a rail development program worth 87 billion dirhams. This initiative includes expanding the high-speed rail (LGV) network from Kenitra to Marrakech. Furthermore, a regional express network (RER) is being developed for the metropolitan areas of Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech. To ensure timely completion, procurement processes have commenced, and discussions between ONCF and the government are underway to finalize a program contract defining the project’s scope and financial framework.

Expansion of the Air Fleet

The National Airports Authority (ONDA) has also launched an investment program totaling 12.3 billion dirhams. This initiative includes upgrading and expanding airport capacities in Casablanca (Mohammed V), Rabat-Salé, and Marrakech, as well as in Agadir, Tetouan, Tangier, Fez, and Al Hoceima.

Integrated Infrastructure Development

In addition to upgrading the stadiums, the launch of an integrated territorial development program extending beyond the host cities of the World Cup matches is planned. This initiative also includes strengthening and modernizing the healthcare system, as well as developing hotel and commercial infrastructure. The program further aims to enhance road infrastructure and expand intra-urban transportation networks. According to the Minister in charge of the Budget, the 2030 World Cup will not just be a sporting event, but also an opportunity to accelerate national economic growth in the coming years. It represents a chance to create more jobs, boost the country’s tourism appeal, and promote universal values of peace, unity, and sustainable development.
